IMBeR is deeply saddened to learn that our dearest colleague Jianwu Tang left us on 4 January 2023. Jianwu was a Distinguished Professor at the State Key Laboratory of Estuarine and Coastal Research (SKLEC), East China Normal University. He has been among the pioneering scientists in blue carbon research, and has passionately supported IMBeR IPO-China in initiating international scientific symposia, training sessions, and Knowledge Action Center on coastal blue carbon.
The IMBeR community extends its sympathy to Jianwu’s family. His leadership, advice, and passion will be missed by all.
