在秋意渐浓的11月，海洋生物圈整合研究（IMBeR）国际项目办公室2024年秋季校内实习生面试顺利完成。作为IMBeR能力培育系列活动之一，本实习项目专为华东师范大学在校学生而设，旨在让学生们亲身参与国际项目办公室的业务运作，了解国际学术组织与全球治理议题，获得在国际化和多元文化环境下的工作经验。
考虑到同学们的课程安排以及台风天气的影响，此次面试分为两期（10月31日、11月1日）举行，采用线上、线下相结合的方式。活动通过个人展示、情景问答和自由交流等环节，为同学们提供了一个充分展示自我、交流互动的平台。IMBeR战略主任洪基勳教授、河口海岸学国家重点实验室化学海洋学研究课题组管理郑薇老师以及实习生项目负责人秦恺老师担任面试导师，面试由IMBeR项目专员钱苏慧老师主持。
此次实习吸引了来自华东师范大学翻译、海洋化学、学科英语、地理科学、环境科学、国际事务、俄语和马克思主义理论多个科学专业的同学参与。结合自身专业背景与能力特长，同学们与面试导师团队就未来实习工作及期待进行了交流。

IMBeR实习生项目由华东师范大学学生工作部和河口海岸学国家重点实验室联合推动，自2022年启动以来，已成功举办三届，共有20名实习生顺利完成项目。这些实习生的学科背景涵盖地理信息科学、人文地理与城乡规划、英语语言文学、哲学等多个领域。同时，还有许多学生（包括外籍学生）以志愿者身份在集中时间段协助组织各类学术活动，为项目的顺利开展做出了重要贡献。
国际组织的实习机会往往是学生迈向国际组织工作、获得正式任职的重要第一步。IMBeR国际项目办公室将持续关注学生需求，不断优化实习实践活动的设计，从而更好地为学生的职业发展提供支持，致力于培养具有国际化视野与本土文化深刻理解的复合型人才。

In November, the IMBeR International Project Office (IPO) successfully conducted the interviews for the IMBeR Internship Program, Fall 2024. As part of IMBeR’s capacity-developing activities, this internship program is specifically tailored for students at East China Normal University (ECNU). It aims to provide hands-on experience with the operations of an international project office, offer insights into global academic organizations and governance issues, and develop work experience in an international and multicultural environment.
To accommodate students’ academic schedules and the impact of typhoon conditions, the interviews were conducted over two sessions on October 31 and November 1, in a hybrid format combining online and in-person participation. Through individual presentations, scenario-based Q&A, and open discussions, the sessions offered students a platform to showcase their abilities and communicate actively. Professor GiHoon Hong, IMBeR’s Strategy Director, Wei Zheng, Manager of the Chemical Oceanography Team at the State Key Laboratory of Estuarine and Coastal Research (SKLEC), and Kai Qin, IMBeR Internship Program Coordinator, served as interview mentors. The interviews were moderated by Suhui Qian, IMBeR Project Officer.
The internship program attracted students from a diverse array of disciplines, including Translation, Marine Chemistry, Subject Teaching, Geoscience, Environmental Science, International Affairs, Russian, and Marxist Theory. During the interviews, the candidates discussed their expectations for the internship and future roles with mentors, highlighting their unique backgrounds and skills.
Jointly promoted by ECNU’s Student Affairs Department and SKLEC, the IMBeR Internship Program has been running successfully since its inception in 2022. Over three sessions, a total of 20 interns, from fields such as Geoscience, Human Geography and Urban Planning, Area Studies, and Philosophy, have successfully completed the program. Many students, including international participants, have also served as volunteers, supporting various academic activities and making significant contributions to the program’s success.
Internships with international organizations often serve as a critical stepping stone for students aspiring to formal roles in such institutions. The IMBeR IPO remains committed to addressing student needs and continuously improving the structure of its internship program to support students’ career development. The program aims to cultivate interdisciplinary talents with a global perspective and a deep understanding of local cultures.
